This one has all the ingredients: Republicans, Democrats, Unreported Money, The Church, and Sex. I’m literally drooling. The unfortunate timing and escalation of this matter could not surface at a more desperate time as so many Americans are losing their homes and having hard times finding accommodations for their families. Yet, these politicians will take advantage when and wherever they please.
“The watchdog organization CREW (Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington) filed complaints Thursday charging Republican Sens. Sam Brownback (Kan.), Tom Coburn (Okla.), Jim DeMint (S.C.) and John Ensign (Nev.), as well as Reps. Mike Doyle (D-Penn.), Heath Shuler (D-N.C.), Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) and Zach Wamp (R-Tenn.), with accepting “improper gifts” from C Street in the form of way-below-market rent.”
The various reports indicate that in most cases the Politicians were paying as little as $950 per month for their accommodations versus the market valued $1700-$4000 per month in the area. How do they get away with this? Well, it’s simple. “The Fellowship” is a Christian network of non-profits that surely subsidize the abridged rent out of the pure joy of helping our U.S. Politicians. As I am positive they wouldn’t be doing this to gain some political advantage for their organization… would they?
Ensign, Sanford, and Pickering all resided at this residence during their alleged sex scandals.
“[C Street] has become the very nexus of American scandal, a curious marker in the gallery of capital shame.”
So as for those that have not been outed (yet) that reside there, Coburn, Doyle, Stupak, and the list goes on… I wonder when they’ll be coming forward?
“The Fellowship”. A very oddball ‘secret’ organization the contains no public website or public funding thus relying solely on private donation. While they claim to be adverse to any political agenda much has been sited on the contrary.
This one had all the ingredients, food for the blogs and critics. Republican Scandal, Democratic Scandal, Sex Scandals, and Religious Scandals.
