If you thought the argument over Obama’s eligibility to hold the presidential post was over, think again. Senator David Vitter R-La is bringing it back to the national stage. As reported by the New York Post:
The fringe “birther” movement may have found itself a new ally.
Republican Senator David Vitter told a group of supporters last week he is in favor of groups who may want to take President Obama to court over the belief he is not an American citizen.
Upon deeper inquiry one learns that Ritter’s motives are to look under rocks for to scavenge votes along with a very recent sex scandal of his own, Vitter also recently learned that he would need to face a fellow Republican in a Primary. The Atlantic:
Louisiana Senator David Vitter, who for a while looked like he would escape the anti-incumbent pall leading up to November’s midterms, is in for a tough reelection battle. Up until Friday, Vitter carried a solid fifteen percent lead over Democratic challenger Charlie Melancon and enjoyed a sixty-two percent favorability rating and forty-five job approval (contrast that with seventeen job approval for Congress as a whole). But with only a few minutes to spare before the filing deadline on Friday evening, a respected and well-connected former Louisiana Supreme Court Justice filed for his candidacy for the Republican nomination. Vitter will now go up against Chet Traylor in the state’s August 28 primary.
One must assume that Vitter is just using the birther thing to rally votes as he is not comitting to actual action on this issue.
“I personally don’t have standing to bring litigation to court,” he said at a recent town hall meeting in Metairie, Lousiana, which was caught on video. “But I support conservative legal organizations and others who would bring that to court.”
The rhetoric regarding the midterm elections have already delved into the ridiculous and it’s only July. C’mon Vitter you can do better than that.

You just made an ass of yourself but you can leave me out of it. Your assumption is irrelevant. Almost 50% of all Americans want to know where this strange man came from and if he’s qualified to be the POTUS. It is inconceivable that 0% of our congresscritters don’t have the same questions. Thank God a few of them are brave enough to ask the questions even if they can’t bring actual action.
